World Series Game #1

I was able to go to the first game of the World Series and was it ever AWESOME!! Even though they lost 7-1 it was well worth the money I spent. We had good seats by the third base line and we were surrounded by huge fans and one grumpy old guy who yelled at Malinda for standing up. The nerve of some people!!
We got on the big screen because we were holding up signs and that was kool. After the game we walked around and found channel 7 news and Eric Zimmerman(He's even cuter in person)we stood behind him and got on live TV! After we left him we ran into Karen Drew and talked to her for a minute and got pictures with her. It was so much fun! They went on to win game 2 but I was glad we went to game 1 because there was no rain and it wasn't as cold. The Tigers are going to win the World Series I just know it.

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

Heart of your home

I have just finished a book by Robin McGraw (Dr. Phil's wife) and I was very moved and inspired by her words of wisdom. One chapter in particular really touched me. The book is called "Inside my Heart" and the chapter was the last one of the book and its called "The heart of my Home". In it she talks about making her house a home and making sure everything is running smooth and is a warm place to be. A home should be a place of happiness and joy and should be a place of refuge from the outside world where you can leave the days troubles behind and focus on your family. I want my home to be my heart and reflect love and value and that my children can grow up and remember the times that we have had here and that they know that there is a lot of love here and that they can feel safe and warm and loved.
If you get a chance, pick up a copy of her book, it is really good and has a lot to offer for women.

Weight Watcher

Well, this is it. I finally feel good about myself to post pictures of my weight loss journey. I don't feel like I'm bragging but I feel so much better about myself that I like to show others that weight loss is something everyone can do. I have struggled with weight since I was 16 years old and it wasn't until this summer that I decided to really do something about it. I have tried WW so many times and always came up with an excuse to quit. Well, I've come this far that quitting is no longer an option. Since April 10, 2006 I have lost 40 pounds. I have NEVER lost that much on a diet in my life. The most weight I ever lost at one time was 43 pounds after I had the twins. I'm half way to my goal and I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel. It has not been an easy road and I know it will have more ups and downs along the way but I'm going for it and I will succeed.

Sometimes my life is in overdrive. I find more and more things to do in a short day. My kids are all active in something, my husband works all day long (which is a good thing:)and I am busy throughout the day. I can do whatever I need to do and not have to worry about the kids bickering about where they sit in the car. I get tired of cleaning the house every day so I try and do other things.
I got rid of some things for our flea market at the church this weekend. It's always a good feeling when you lose weight and can get rid of clothes you under grew! I no longer have a cushion to fall on to so I have to keep up with weight watchers and continue with my weight loss journey. Besides, who doesn't like to go shopping for new clothes!!!
It is also deer season and I am considered a deer hunter widow! Marvin came home last night after a 2 day hunt. He came home empty handed which was a bummer to Matthew more than me. He likes deer meat and I do to as long as I don't think about it. He got a deer last season and we got a lot of meat off it. (sorry if you like Bambi, but you gotta eat)He will go out again so hopefully we will get one.
Matthew got an expander in his mouth today. He has more teeth than mouth so this will open up his pallet to make room for the teeth coming in. He will wear it for a few months and then he will get braces on his front teeth. Braces sure have come along way since I had them! I didn't get to pick colors out they were all metal and no color!
Well. I need to go get busy before they day is gone:)

Housework

I hate housework. You can never keep up! Every time I turn around the rooms are a mess. I wish I was a neat freak. I wish I would have trained my kids better. I'm home alone all day now and I still can't keep up. I wish I could hire a maid. Today I got fed up with the walls in the dining room. I can't ell you the last time they were cleaned. Today I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed them clean. Since I was on a roll, I scrubbed the bathroom and the living room. I felt so good afterwards. Then I matched at least 100 pairs of socks. I kept them in a bag because they didn't have a match and next thing I knew I had a whole laundry bag full of socks. Then, I went outside and cleaned the garage so the kids could park their bikes in there. You ever notice that most people that have a garage never keep there car in it because they have so much junk in it? That's our garage. Now I love my husband very much but he never throws anything away! He has at least 8 sledge hammers. Now tell me what are we going to do with 8 hammers? We have three snow blowers and this HUGE industrial snow thrower. What in the world are we going to do with that thing? I told him to sell it on eBay! Well, anyway I must not rattle on. I'm so tired! I guess I'll rest in my nice clean home.

Weigh-in

Well, today was the weigh-in and I lost a whole .6 of a pound. I have been in a slump for a month now. I have been doing some thinking of when I first joined and what I am doing now and I know it's because I'm not journaling like I should. That is the key. Losing weight is such a big challenge. I have worked hard to get where I am today, but I know that I need to keep going. Since I have lost weight my self esteem has gone up. I'm changing in ways I never thought I would. Before weight watchers, I really didn't care how I looked, I just went as is. Now I dress better, look better, and feel better. The bible says that God doesn't look on the outside of us but he looks at the heart. He knows that my heart is focused on Him and that He is guiding me in all my struggles, and for that I am thankful. Have a great day!

homework

My poor boy! Since the first day of school, Matthew has been loaded down with homework. I'm all for homework but 3-5 hours of it! He worked on homework the other day from 4: to 9:30. He looked like he went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson! Now, I have been out of school for almost 20 years (Yes I'm getting old) and some of the stuff he brings home I don't even remember doing at his age. Maybe I should have paid more attention in school. I can already see that he may end up like me. I stuggled in school the whole time I was in and I don't want him to go through that. It's so hard to see your child struggle:(

Sick out

Well, one of the benefits of the kids all being in school is that when I am sick, which is now, I can take them to school and come home and go back to bed, which I did, for uninterrupted rest. I hate feeling sick because it reminds me of all my pregnancies and how sick I was. No! I am not pregnant, I was just relating:) I have a head cold and I hate those. Now I'm probably going to pass it to the kids and then the perfect attendance goes out the window. I try to not let them miss unless absolutely necessary. Matthew was in first grade when he had perfect attendance! Well, I'm off to the couch now. Say a prayer for me.

The rest of the Family

I have 3 other members of the family. My dog, Buster, he is a 19 month old dachshund. He is awesome. My cat, goose, is a grey and white domestic. He is 2 1/2 years old and is fat:) My kitten, Gracie will be one on the 23rd. My husband, Marvin is the wonderful man that God gave to me. He is the best dad to our kids. He loves them so much.

suprmom4: September 2006

suprmom4: September 2006 My kids started school on Sept. 6th. It is the first time they are all in school all day long. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I only teared up twice. They need the break from me as much as I from them. I do look foward to the end of the school day so I can hear all about their day. The twins have adjusted well and love that they get to eat lunch at school and look foward to what I packed for them. Matthew doesn't like the fact that he has homework everyday. Ashlee thinks everything is too easy! Maybe I have a smarty pants in the family. I told her it would get harder as she moves along.

My four schoolers

Wow, a blog!

Welcome to my blog page. I'm new at this so be patient.
